Youth
The purpose of the Youth Ministry is to help youth and their families connect to one another and to God through Weekly Bible studies, mission activities, and relationship building opportunities such as camps, lock-ins, ski trips, summer day trips, and church-wide socials or events.
Sundays
9:45 am -10:45 am Sunday School - Youth meet to discuss important and relevant topics for them and where they are.
5:00 pm Youth Choir - 6th through 12th graders meet to sing contemporary Christian songs and youth choir music.
5:45 pm - 6:15 pm Snack Supper - Youth and parents rotate bringing food for the youth to eat between activities.
6:15 pm - 7:30 pm Sunday Night in Fellowship - Youth have a creative Bible study and activity rolled into one time of fun and learning!
Wednesdays
6:15 pm - 7:30 pm Bible Study - Youth Meet to talk about the Bible, in depth, through studying different topics and how these topics are discussed in the Bible.
Summer
Fun Activities Youth have different activities throughout the summer, such as Six Flags, a Braves Game, Hockey Night, Movie Night, etc.
Camp Youth attend Passport Camp in Wingate, NC for a week of learning and fellowship with other youth and a high energy program of Bible study and missions.
Lock-In Upcoming 6th graders are "initiated" into the Youth Group by a summer lock-in. Parents drop youth off at 6:00 pm for Bible study and then we go to Malibu Grand Prix for a fun night of games and activities. We go out to breakfast in the early morning and parents pick up at 7:00 am.
Wednesday Evening Studies
Youth in the 6th through 12th grades still have Wednesday evening Bible Study each week during the Summer from 6:15 pm - 7:30 pm.
Children's Activities Youth help lead and chaperone all children's activities.
Seasonal
October Bonfire The youth go to a special house and place for a time of bonfire, weenie and marshmallow roast, and games and fellowship.
Christmas Lock-In On the Friday before Christmas, the youth have a lock-in which includes going out to eat, going to a movie, playing life size Nintendo games, a Christmas white elephant gift exchange, and plenty of junk food and chatter. The only thing missing is sleep! Parents drop off the youth at 6:00 pm and pick up at 7:00 am.
Retreats
Youth usually go on at least one and sometimes two seasonal retreats a year. These retreats vary from Back to School Retreats to Ski Trips or Winter Choir Festivals. All the retreats are for youth in the 6th through 12th grade and feature a Bible theme and lots of fun!
Youth Sunday The youth plan and lead a Sunday Morning worship service in the spring, with their own musical interpretation, scripture reading, and worship leading.
