THE CENTRALITY OF CHRIST
At BBC, Jesus comes first (Colossians 1:15-18). Because God’s desire is that in everything Jesus has preeminence, it is our desire also. From our worship to mission, unity to message, Jesus is the focus and core of everything.
WORSHIP IN SPIRIT AND TRUTH
When we worship we participate in a dramatic celebration of God’s worth (Psalm 96:8-9). When we gather together to worship God we recognize the freedom of the Holy Spirit to guide our worship in Spirit and truth (John 4:23).
We teach and learn God’s Word, the Bible, and we choose to make all decisions based on its guidance, strength, and truth. We submit to its authority and recognize its supreme importance in our lives. Because it was inspired by God, the Bible is truth without any mixture of error and is completely relevant to our daily lives.
SALVATION THROUGH GRACE
We believe salvation is a gift from God, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts. The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation through faith in Jesus Christ is available for everyone and through it all of life is transformed.
We call all believers to participate following Jesus’ example of making disciples, being both salt and light in the world, and sharing the love of God through our words and actions being genuine witnesses for Him.
LIVES OF PRAYER
We are committed to continual, fervent prayer both corporately and individually, faithfully seeking God’s will for our lives and church.
We believe that people, as image-bearers of God, are made to be in community. Together, we share in the common bond of faith in Christ, and love one another as Christ loves us. We share our lives together in love and unity, intent on the ultimate purpose of glorifying Christ in the time and place God has placed us in.
GRACIOUS AND GENEROUS LIFESTYLES
We commit to the stewardship of our lives, and we offer our time, talents, and resources completely and joyfully to God and to each other as an act of worship.
